Many say this election is going to determine America’s future. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get to thinking about what could happen…. I wonder what Christians will face. I wonder what I will face. And it terrifies me.
2 Corinthians 12:10 – for the sake of Christ, then I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Philippians 4:7 – And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 10:28-31 – And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrow.
2 Corinthians 1:5 For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
I don’t know how you are feeling about the years ahead, but I hope you will join me in reminding ourselves of WHO is right here with us. The pain we may experience is a trifle compared to the beauty and glory we shall one day dwell in, in heaven. Though thoughts of what may happen can make our heart pound and our bodies feel weak, Jesus is right there.
