The Single Line Story Challenge Round II

We’re back again! This tag started going around in the story hollow of KDWC, and I got tagged multiple times!!

First off, by Auntie Erika!

Then by Florrie!

Then by Michelle!

And over the course of the tagging, some new genres were added, so I’m gonna drop some of those at the bottom of the original list because they are pretty good!

RULES:

  • Be sure to thank the person who tagged you!
  • Write five single line stories that fall under any of these genres (you pick which ones you do! Choose five genres that are easy or challenge yourself to try something new!)

    • Mystery
    • Western
    • Contemporary
    • Historical
    • Drama

    • Adventure
    • Sci-fi
    • Paranormal
    • Young Adult
    • Suspense

    • Children’s
    • Humor
    • Middle Grade
  • Nominate five bloggers/writers who you’d love to see participate and leave an open nomination for all writers!
  • You can do this challenge more than once!

Here we go again!!

Historical

Dust clung to her sweaty skin as Lottie trotted behind the covered wagon and grinned at her baby brother as he played peek-a-boo with her through the flaps.

Drama

“Drop the gun and put your hands in the air, criminal!” Agent 456 dared a look around the closet door and watched as the man’s eyes darted back and forth and he released the shaking girl he held at gunpoint and dropped the pistol; the audience burst into applause.

Sci-Fi

“Breathe, girl, breathe.” Emlyn gripped the controls until her knuckles turned white and sweat broke out on her forehead. “Only the lives of a thousand Runners depend on your ability to land this transport safely on Jeyan.”

Humor

Jenna let out a scream of frustration and pounded her fists against the keyboard, taking great satisfaction at the conglomeration of letters that blotted out the dull white of her blank page.

Middle Grade

It felt like waiting for a ticking time bomb to explode as Katy darted down the hall, backpack bouncing on her back, and sank into her chair just as the class bell shrieked.

For nominees, I’m going to do something a bit different. I’m nominating the first 5 commenters to pick a genre and write one sentence for me in the comments! Any commenters after that can write a sentence if they’d like as well, but they aren’t required too. You first five must 😜

Keep planting and watering, the harvest will come!

  1. Genre: Humor

When Allie shoved an accusing finger in his face, Jackson raised his eyebrows, let out a breathy whistle through his teeth, and snickered, “You’ll need to do more than that, sis, if you really want to threaten me.”

  2. I don’t know if this counts or not because i got it out of my WIP. But it’s Action =)
“It’s a free country” he stated as Hank gave a growl and was about to slam Silas into the wall again when the other guy, who Silas had dubbed Joe, stepped in.
