Letter From Camp III

Goodmorning all!

Today is the last day of camp πŸ˜₯ It’s been a blast and I’ve loved every minute of it! Everyone is here with the same goal – to write for the Glory of God and to encourage each other. We’ve shared hundreds of prayer requests and so many people have been prayed over and lifted up to the throne of God. It’s so beautiful.

Our conversations are a lovely healthy mix of fun, sarcastic, silly, honest, serious and uplifting! We share advice, feedback and ideas. We spur one another on to love and good works. I love every one of these gals like sisters! πŸ’–

Thursday was an exciting day! After a great race with Auntie Bekah, Bethany and Lydia, I completed my camp goal of 20,000 words! By God’s grace I was able to get in a bunch of journaling, several blog posts, some book reviews and a decent amount on my WIP. I sent my first and second chapter for feedback from a dear friend of mine and received some good feedback on my first – so that’s always exciting! My critiquer is always good about giving suggestions and opinions but also about commenting on the things she loved!

One thing that’s be really fun is joining an accountability group with a bunch of gals and aunties from camp. A bunch of us are participating in Spring100, a challenge to walk 100 miles this spring – and so we all joined up to encourage one another in walking! Despite a cold start to many people’s springs, everyone is pushing through the cold and still getting miles in!

Friday was a day that shall forever be remembered in the history of Tantalizing Tales. For the first time, we reached 100% of our tent goal!!!! We had a grand party to celebrate complete with balloons, streamers, and fireworks! We even had some water balloons, but we were good girls and kept those outside of the tent. 😊

Since that day we have continued to race on – farther up and farther in! Just because we reached the top of the mountain doesn’t mean we can’t climb higher in the trees! We’ve found a pretty high one and are racing upwards to heights of 140% – will we make it? I’ll keep you posted!

On Sunday I earned a badge for writing 14 days in a row and on Tuesday I earned a badge for finishing my second chapter!

March seems to be the month of sickness, but our dear Auntie takes good care of us! She has made countless bowls of soup to help soothe sour throats and head colds πŸ€—.

We have a special group in our tent this year! Lots of young gals full of enthusiasm and also a good mix of seasoned writers to encourage us all along and give us some real-life advice! Also, we have an expectant mother in our midst! We are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of our honorary TT member – Baby Girl P! She has yet to make her appearance, but we are praying and hope it will be here before camp doors close. We are all dying to meet her! Sadly, our labor-inducing efforts seem to have been futile so far. But we shall not give up! Prayers work wonders! πŸ’–

It’s been a quieter camp this time around – I think we are all busy enjoying the lovely spring weather and punching out words on our books. I’ve enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere (though chaos has not been completely uncommon – we are writers after all πŸ˜‡) and as always, look forward to next camp! I am eager to see what God will do in each of our lives over the next few months and what words He has for us to share with the world. He is the great Author, and He writes the best stories ever! I, personally, am happy to let Him have control of the pen in my life – it may be dangerous, it may be hard, but the end result will be beautiful.

Tootles from Tentalizing Tales!

Keep planting and watering, the harvest will come!

  1. I loved this post, Autumn!! Hmm, do you think the quieter camp and us reaching our goal for the first time were connected at all? πŸ˜‰ I loved our race and hope we can do it again sometime. Thank you for the beautiful letter from camp!!
